Dispute over sitting in the front seat of a tempo… man shot and killed
A 26-year-old man shot dead his father in North Delhi’s Timarpur area after he was not given the front seat in a tempo.
A 26-year-old man shot his father dead in North Delhi’s Timarpur area because he was not given a front seat in a tempo. A police officer told a news agency. According to the officer, the family had hired an auto to go to their native village in Uttarakhand.
At present, the police have arrested the accused named Deepak from the spot and recovered the gun used in the crime and 11 live cartridges. The incident took place near Timarpur’s MS Block at around 7.30 pm on Thursday, where patrolling staff heard gunshots and rushed to the spot. The source said, “The staff saw a man lying on the footpath covered in blood while the locals were trying to snatch the gun from the accused.”
The victim was identified as Surendra Singh, 60, a retired sub-inspector from CISF. He was rushed to HRH Hospital where doctors declared him dead. He had sustained a gunshot wound on the left cheek while several other bullet wounds were on the face. Initial investigations revealed that the family was preparing to shift to their native village in Uttarakhand after Surendra Singh retired from CISF six months ago.
The source said they hired a tempo and loaded their luggage in it. Then an argument broke out between Surendra and Deepak over who would sit in the front seat. When Surendra insisted on sitting in the front seat as the luggage was loaded, Deepak got aggressive and brought his father’s licensed gun and shot him, killing him, the police source said.
