Gautam Adani Joins Puri's Shree Jagannath Rath Yatra 2025, Adani Group Launches Massive 'Prasad Seva' to Serve 4 Million Pilgrims

Adani Group Chairperson Gautam Adani arrives in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He will proceed to Puri for the Shree Jagannath Rath Yatra.

During the Rath Yatra from 26 June to 8 July, Adani Group has initiated the ‘Prasad Seva’ in Puri Dham and is undertaking a comprehensive 'seva' effort to support both pilgrims and frontline officials.

The 'Prasad Seva' started by Adani Group seeks to enrich the Yatra, as lakhs of devotees and frontline workers, and officials of the chariot festival will get clean and nutritious food, free of cost. Various counters will be set up at many places to distribute prasad to pilgrims and officials.

Netizens have a lot to say about this. One user commented, "Good work in providing nutritious and free meals to lakhs of devotees at Puri and Prayagraj."

Another user commented," First airports, ports, and coal. Now, even God’s service is up for corporate capture? From ‘sarkar’ to ‘sanskriti’ — everything for Adani."

The Rath Yatra, also known as the Chariot Festival, is a significant Hindu festival associated with Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu or Krishna. The term "Rath Yatra" literally means "chariot journey" in Sanskrit, derived from "rath" (chariot) and "yatra" (journey or pilgrimage).

The most famous Rath Yatra takes place in Puri, Odisha, India, at the Jagannath Temple. It involves a grand procession where the deities—Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra, and sister Devi Subhadra—are taken out of the temple in elaborately decorated wooden chariots and pulled by devotees through the streets to the Gundicha Temple, believed to be their aunt's home.

The festival symbolises Lord Jagannath's annual visit to his birthplace or his aunt's temple, representing a journey of devotion and accessibility to devotees.
