'Deeply shocked': Mika Singh's heartfelt tribute to Shefali Jariwala prompts waves of condolences from Indian TV industry

'Bigg Boss 13' fame Shefali Jariwala died on the night of June 27. Despite initial reports citing the cause of the 42-year-old's death as cardiac arrest, the circumstances surrounding her demise have raised questions and even sparked bizarre conspiracy theories as the investigation continues. 

The sudden death of the 'Kaanta Laga' fame also prompted a number of reactions from those in the TV industry, as well as other internet personalities.

Renowned playback singer Mika Singh expressed his grief for her in an Instagram post, saying that he was “deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart” at the death of his “beloved star and my dearest friend”.

Divyanka Tripathi, another actor who was reportedly a close friend of the actress and her husband Parag, said on X that she “still can't process the news” of Shefali's death.

TV actor and political commentator Tehseen Poonawalla has not only expressed his sadness at the demise of his Bigg Boss 13 co-star, but has also spoken a lot on cardiac arrests in India, with an aim to spread awareness on what he says is one of the biggest factors behind deaths in India.

“Absolutely stunned to hear my friend Shefali Jariwala is no more. I last met her at a party. Life is so short. She was in #BiggBoss13 with me. Incredible how #SiddhartShukla and now she from my season are no more. Sending love and and healing to her loved ones!”

“I Always Adored your Happy Positive Nature and Your Aura Always,” said TV actress and Bigg Boss contestant Antara Biswas (commonly known as Monalisa), in an Instagram Story.

“Will Miss You Shefali,” she added.

Another Bigg Boss contestant and social media influencer, known simply as “Hindustani Bhau”, told reporters that “whatever has happened is very sad ... never thought such a thing will happen”.

“She used to call me frequently during Raksha Bandhan, Ganesh Puja ... now only her name is in the mobile ... it will never ring," he added, wistfully.

Actor-comedian Kiku Sharda, known primarily for his regular appearances in 'Comedy Nights with Kapil', called the death “shocking”, saying that a “beautiful soul” like her would be missed terribly.

'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' fame Rohan Mehra also responded to the news of her demise, saying that his “heart was shattered into a million pieces” on hearing the news. 

“Memories of our time together on set, your infectious laughter, and your beautiful spirit will forever be etched in my mind,” he added, in his Instagram Story.

As the Mumbai Police continues their investigation into the 42-year-old's demise, her post-mortem report from Cooper Hospital is awaited.
