Kaithal SP emphasises on effective patrolling
Kaithal Superintendent of Police (SP) Astha Modi held a crime review meeting at the Police Lines on Saturday, which was attended by all DSPs, SHOs, and police posts’ in-charges and other police personnel from across the district. Modi directed all to strengthen law enforcement and crime prevention measures in their respective jurisdictions.
Emphasising the need for effective patrolling, she said all officers must take active steps to prevent snatching and theft incidents. “All officers must conduct vigilant and impactful patrolling within their areas,” she said.
Giving details, the Kaithal police spokesperson said Modi instructed them to ensure that their subordinates performed their duties sincerely and responsibly. Stern action would be taken against officers who show negligence or disinterest in their investigations, while those delivering exemplary performance will be recognised and rewarded.
She reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and corruption, directing officers to focus on pending investigations and expedite the resolution of serious cases. Modi also highlighted the importance of strengthening community relations while taking strict actions against criminals.
“Ensure regular checking of suspicious vehicles and people, maintain friendly relations with the public and address complaints promptly and efficiently,” she added.
Modi also urged all crime units and police stations to intensify the ongoing anti-drug campaign. She called for increased community involvement in identifying and taking legal action against drug peddlers, with a focus on reaching the core sources of drug supply.
She also instructed the launch of special drives to apprehend proclaimed offenders, bail jumpers, parole absconders and those possessing illegal arms and ammunition.
She also emphasised public awareness efforts, urging officers to educate citizens about the dangers of drug abuse, cybercrime and the importance of following traffic rules, thereby fostering a safer and more responsible society.
