Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tourney concludes

DODA, June 28: District Police Doda, under the Civic Action Programme (CAP), successfully concluded the District-Level Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament at Government High School (GHS), Ghat, aimed at engaging youth in positive activities and paying tribute to martyrs. The tournament, held from June 20 to 28, featured 32 teams from across the district and drew large crowds throughout.
The final match saw Shining Cricket Club Doda, led by Nowshair Butt, defeat ANK Warriors Bhaderwah, captained by Arif Rather. ANK Warriors posted 174 runs in 15 overs, but Shining Cricket Club chased the target in just 14 overs, winning the championship.
Rehan Fazal of Shining Cricket Club was declared Man of the Tournament for scoring 152 runs and taking 10 wickets, receiving a trophy and Rs 10,000. Aqib Zargar scored 207 runs and was named Best Batter (Rs 5,000), while Arif Rather took 9 wickets and won Best Bowler (Rs 5,000).
SSP Doda Sh. Sandeep Mehta distributed prizes and praised the discipline and talent of the players. Other dignitaries included Additional SP Mohd Aslam, DySP DAR Adil Rishu and DySP SOG Abdul Rehman.
