Panchayat Season 4: Reel VS Real Life Sachiv Ji’s Office & Some Interesting Unknown Facts

Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): TVF's renowned web series, Panchayat is loved for it's relatability and portrayal of grassroot issues in villages. The depiction of Phulera village was actually filmed in Madhya Pradesh's Mahodiya village in Sehore.

Panchayat's shoot commenced on March this year bringing cameras, Tripods and halogens into the lanes of Mahodiya.

Fascinatingly, several props and locations used in the series is not just a part of set, but it exists in real life. In fact, it exists in a more developed way than depicted on the screen.

Panchayat office was rented for ₹500/day

The panchayat office--heart of the film, is actually a gram panchayat office in Mahodiya. It was rented out by the TVF's production team for ₹500 per day. Lead cast Jitendra Kumar alias Sachiv Ji's room in the gram panchayat office is an existing guest room in Mahodiya gram panchayat office.

Panchayat office, pink in colour was portrayed under dull light and underdeveloped. But in reality, the panchayat office is well equipped with modern facility and infra.

Although, a memorial library portrayed for the village's martyr Rahul Pandey in season 3 was not a prop or part of the set. It was constructed by the production team after season 1's success, and has remained part of the premises.

In contrary, the handpump placed near the panchayat office often used by Sachiv Ji was a prop installed by the crew for the shoot and was removed once the shoot was wrapped.

With Season 4 wrapped up, the village is on the onset of returning to their quiet routine until the next shoot brings back chaos and camera in Sehore's Mahodiya.
