Manchester United want Nigerian striker if Viktor Gyokeres transfer collapses and it is not Victor Osimhen!

The Viktor Gyokeres transfer saga wages on, with most reports suggesting that the Nordic striker is likely to choose Arsenal over Manchester United. However, they add that the stout striker is unhappy with the Gunners relentlessly pursuing Benjamin Sesko despite a clear green signal from his side. This may prompt Gyokeres to take a U-turn from his position and decide to join his former boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford instead.

Victor Osimhen is another option available in the market, but the Nigerian is more expensive compared to Gyokeres. According to reports, Manchester United have identified a backup option who happens to be a fan of the English club. If the reports are to be trusted, the Premier League team would sign Genk's Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare if all other attempts fail.
Who is Tolu Arokodare?
The 24-year-old Arokodare managed 17 goals and six assists from 30 outings this past season. The right-footed forward is contracted with the Belgian club until 2027, after arriving from France’s Amiens SC in 2023. He managed to find the net 35 times from 91 appearances ever since.
Ahead of the summer transfer window’s opening, Turkish Super Lig champions Besiktas were also linked to the talented striker, who has won the Jupiler Pro League’s Top Scorer award as well as the Ebony Shoe for the best African player in Belgium. For the national side, he has played three games so far, scoring once.

Media reports had previously stated that he was valued at around €13 million, but it is obvious that Genk will demand far more to let him leave. However, he would still be a cheaper buy compared to Gyokeres or his international teammate Osimhen, and getting a striker who is unlikely to demand massive wages would help United make investments to improve other positions.
Multiple media reports, including TeamTalk, have reported that Arokodare was positive about becoming a Red Devil, as he is someone nurturing the dream of becoming a Premier League star someday. “I’m a Manchester United fan, and if it happens, it would mean a lot to me and my family,” he was quoted as saying earlier this month.
It is said that United will part ways with Rasmus Hojlund this summer and use the sum from his sale to bring in fresh faces.
