According to the information, the states in which the bus service will start include five cities of Uttarakhand including Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun, five cities of Uttar Pradesh including Ayodhya, Lucknow, Moradabad, three cities of Rajasthan including Alwar, Bikaner and Jaipur, three cities of Punjab – Amritsar, Patiala, Chandigarh and one city each of Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir – Panipat and Jammu.

The government has taken the past records as the basis for deciding the routes. These have been decided on the basis of the number of passengers on which routes when DTC used to operate inter-state bus services earlier.

E-buses will be air-conditioned

Officials said that separate buses will be purchased for inter-state bus service. These buses will be 12 meters long which will be fully electric and air-conditioned. The concerned states have also been informed about DTC’s inter-state bus service. The DTC board has already approved starting this service. According to sources, it will be started with only e-buses.

The service was completely stopped in 2010

Till 2004, DTC buses used to go to other states in large numbers. But after conversion from diesel to CNG, this service gradually started to stop. After converting completely to CNG in the year 2010, this service was completely stopped, because there were no CNG facilities in other states. Now the current government has approved it in the DTC board and has also decided the routes.
