Central Railway RPF personnel – True Heroes- rescuing lost children & saving lives

The Railway Protection Force ( RPF ) of Central Railway have emerged as True Heroes with rescuing lost children under Operation Nanhe Farishte and saving lives under Operation Jeevan Raksha.

The details of these various Operations are as under:

*Operation Nanhe Farishte*

The RPF under “Operation Nanhe Farishte” has been instrumental in finding and rescuing lost/runaway children and taking efforts to reunite them with their Parents/Guardians.

During the period April to May- 2025, Central Railway's RPF in coordination with Government Railway Police (GRP), other frontline railway staff and NGOs like Childline has rescued and helped a total of 235 children to reunite with their families as against 149 children during the corresponding period last year. This includes 114 children in April 2025 & 121 children in May 2025 as against 56 children in April 2024 & 93 children in May 2024

The division-wise and comparative breakup of children rescued during April to May- 2025 as against April to May -2024 over Central Railway is as under: -

The children who come to the railway stations without informing their families as a result of some fight or some family issues or in search of better life or glamor of the city etc. are found by trained RPF personnel. These trained RPF personnel connect with the children, understand their problems and counsel them to reunite with their parents. Many of the parents express their deep gratitude and thankfulness for this noble service.

*Operation Life Protection*

The RPF personnel have always been at the forefront in not only keeping a round-the-clock vigil in safeguarding railway properties but also playing multiple roles of Life Saviors.

The alert RPF in most cases, has saved the lives of those passengers, who are sometimes negligent and face danger while boarding or alighting running trains.

Central Railway RPF personnel, as part of “Operation Jeevan Rakshak” have been instrumental in saving lives of 12 persons(9 male & 3 female) during April-May 2025 as against saving lives of 7 persons(5 male & 2 female) during the corresponding period last year.

The work of these brave soldiers of the Railway Protection Force can be summarized as Suraksha, Satarkta and Seva and they have discharged their duties with utmost dedication alertness and courage.
