CEO conducts quarterly inspection of EVM warehouse in Hoshiarpur
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Punjab, Sibin C, carried out a quarterly inspection of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) warehouse in Hoshiarpur on Monday. The inspection, part of a routine district-level process, focused on ensuring the integrity and security of the election infrastructure.
As part of the inspection, the warehouse was opened, and the condition of the EVMs and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines was thoroughly examined. The CEO also reviewed security arrangements, sealing protocols and the CCTV surveillance system. Related documentation, including logbooks and entry registers, was scrutinised to ensure procedural transparency.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Sibin C emphasised that the quarterly inspection of EVM warehouses is a regular and essential activity carried out across all districts to uphold the principles of fairness, security and transparency in the electoral process. He expressed satisfaction over the arrangements in Hoshiarpur, noting that the facilities were of the highest standards.
Representatives of political parties who were present during the inspection welcomed the initiative, stating that such measures by the Election Commission strengthen public trust in the democratic process and help dispel doubts about the fairness of the machines.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of Additional District Election Officer Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Oashi Mandal, and Tehsildar (Election) Harminder Singh. Various political party representatives also attended the inspection.
