Ecotourism site proposed in Anandpur Sahib

The Wildlife Department has proposed to initiate an ecotourism project on the fringes of the Jhajjar Bachauli wildlife sanctuary near Anandpur Sahib. The sanctuary is known for frequent sightings of leopards and other animals.

DFO (Wildlife) Kulraj Singh said the proposal had been submitted to the government for financial approval.

Sources said the project would be spread on around 4.9 sq km area. It would have a 3-km nature walk, nature interpretation centre, watch towers, elevated decks and boardwalks for tourists. The interpretation centre would have a leopard gallery displaying rare footage from camera traps, leopard profiles and audio of leopard calls, growls and local sounds.
