China Political Crisis: China, the country known for supporting terror-harboring Pakistan, is witnessing a major internal crisis. According to the reports from within the Chinese military indicate that senior officials are not happy with President Xi Jinping. It is important to note that Xi Jinping had mysteriously disappeared from public view between May 21 and June 5, 2025.

Where was President Xi?

Between May 21 and June 5, 2025, there were no official visits or statements from Chinese President Xi Jinping. Notably, his photos were absent from state-run newspapers for 16 days, and there was no news coverage related to him. The president is reportedly witnessing challenges from several key sectors. Meanwhile, there have been major reshuffles within Xi Jinping’s party, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).

While Xi Jinping was missing, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Vice Premier He Lifeng held meetings with foreign dignitaries. It is believed this was done to deal with internal factionalism. Notably, former Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang and former Defense Minister Li Shangfu also disappeared from public view before being removed from their posts.

All Is Not Well in China:

The Chinese government removed three senior military officials from their positions on Friday, July 4, 2025. Those dismissed include General Miao Hua, Navy Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Li Hanjun, and Liu Shipeng, Deputy Chief Engineer at China National Nuclear Corporation.

As per the South China Morning Post, the action against the top military official was taken against the three officials due to corruption charges. However, experts are of the opinion that the real reason behind this move was President Xi Jinping’s fear of a potential rebellion.

Following this action against military officials, questions have been raised about China’s internal security.

More than 50 ministers and several officials of China’s State Council took oath on June 6, 2025. President Xi Jinping was notably absent from the ceremony — an unusual occurrence for such a significant event.
