Breaking News: Monsoon Havoc in Himachal and Uttarakhand- Cloudbursts, Collapses, and Chaos | ABP NEWS

Relentless monsoon rains have triggered widespread destruction in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In Himachal’s Mandi district, a cloudburst in Karsog caused flash floods that swept away vehicles and destroyed a cowshed. Several homes and roads have suffered extensive damage in the lower Karsog area, especially in Panchayat Panjrat. Rivers like the Beas and Juni Khad are in full spate, flooding residential areas like Sakodi Khad and Jail Road in Mandi. Meanwhile, Uttarakhand is reeling under the aftermath of a cloudburst in Uttarkashi that cut off the route to Yamunotri Dham. Over 600 pilgrims remain stranded near Janki Chatti as repair efforts continue on the broken roads. The administration has arranged food and shelter for the pilgrims, but rescuing them remains a top priority. In a tragic incident, a five-storey building collapsed in Himachal after soil erosion beneath it. Residents were safely evacuated, but fears of more collapses persist. Additionally, landslides near the Thallot Tunnel and across the Chandigarh-Manali Highway have paralyzed travel, with terrifying visuals showing massive boulders falling dangerously close to people and roadside eateries. Emergency crews, SDRF, and ITBP are working around the clock to restore roads and ensure the safety of those trapped.
