Is Elon Musk launching 'America Party'? Tesla CEO threatens Trump, GOP over 'Big Beautiful Bill'

Entrepreneur Elon Musk renewed his rhetoric against President Donald Trump's 'Big Beautiful Bill', the controversial sweeping tax cut and spending bill, on Monday, stating lawmakers who campaigned on cutting spending but backed the bill "should hang their heads in shame."

This time Musk recalled for the formation of a new political party and threatened to support primary challengers against nearly every single Republican in Congress.  "[T]hey will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth," Musk said.

Musk also went on to show how serious was about the new party, stating he would call it 'America Party'. "If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day," he wrote in one of several Monday posts to his 220 million followers on X. "Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a VOICE."

In another post, Musk said how the bill would increase the debt ceiling by  record five trillion dollars. "It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country — the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,"  Musk wrote on social platform X, which he owns.

Interestingly, Musk had previously launched a poll asking X users if the country needed a new faction for political nominees. He then cited the results of the survey, adding: "The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle! And exactly 80% of people agree. This is fate."

The SpaceX founder's tirade came after he had a major fallout with US President Donald Trump over the bill, which Musk claims will undermine his work at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) by increasing spending. However, the White House claimed Musk's issue with the bill was the clause which would end subsidies for EVs. Musk claims the bill gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.

However, Musk's outburst riled up Donald Trump who suggested DOGE take a look at the subsidies that Musk's companies have received so far so as to save the federal government "BIG" money.  "Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

In response to Trump's post, Musk, in his own social media platform X, said "I am literally saying CUT IT ALL. Now."
