Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Announces Rs 1 Cr Compensation For Victims Of Sigachi Factory Blast

After the tragic explosion at the Sigachi Industries Limited pharmaceutical factory in the Pashamylaram Industrial Area, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of those who lost their lives in the explosion at the pharma plant in Pashamylaram. After visiting the blast site, it was confirmed that the death toll had risen to 36.

The blast, which occurred on Monday, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries among factory workers. Preliminary reports suggest the explosion was due to safety lapses and an investigation is currently underway.

Compensation Announced

Speaking to ANI, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, "The inquiry is going on. We will examine everything and see all the lapses and make regulations. Rs 1 lakh will be given to the deceased's family and Rs 50,000 to the injured's family for immediate expenditure. Rs 1 crore will be given to the deceased and Rs 10 lakh to the seriously injured, and Rs 5 lakh to the injured people. The government will take care of their medical treatment."

"The state government will talk to the company management to ensure that Rs 1 crore each compensation is paid to the deceased families. I have issued orders that from both the government side and company side Rs 1 Crore compensation will be paid,” the CM said, as per a report on PTI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced ex-gratia support of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
