Rajasthan lease holder carried out illegal mining on Haryana land, FIR registered
A lease holder from Rajasthan has been booked for illegally mining stone on Haryana territory, following a joint inspection by the Mining Department, Forest Department and Haryana State Enforcement Bureau at Pathrali village in Ferozepur Jhirka tehsil, Nuh district.
According to the complaint filed by Surendra Singh, Assistant Mining Engineer (Mines and Predictions), the inspection was carried out on June 29 at Khasra No. 43. The team included Assistant Mining Engineer Sohit Kumar, Forest Range Officer Rakesh Kumar, ASI from Haryana State Enforcement Bureau Nuh, Halka patwari Parvez Alam and Sakil, a representative of the gram panchayat.
During the visit, officials discovered that stone mining activity was being carried out inside Haryana territory by a lease holder from Udayalkabas village, Rajasthan.
“Investigation by officials of the Forest Department and Mining Department revealed that this mining was done by Pawan Kumar Jain, owner of lease number 698/2003 and resident of Ward No. 12, Ferozepur Jhirka,” Singh said in his complaint.
The lease holder had neither erected boundary pillars nor left a buffer zone, violating multiple safety and environmental norms.
“The lease holder has neither installed boundary pillars nor left a buffer zone and nor have safety standards been followed,” Singh added.
Ferozepur Jhirka SDM Lakshmi Narayan confirmed that the Mining and Forest Departments submitted their joint report to the Enforcement Bureau, which led to an FIR being registered on Monday at the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau Police Station, Nuh.
In another case, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Gurugram, on Monday arrested Latif, a resident of Basai Meo village, in connection with a case involving the construction of illegal roads in the same village.
The ACB has already arrested four other accused in the case. A cash reward of Rs 50,000 each has been announced for the arrest of three absconding suspects — Shabbir, Shaukat, and Hanip alias Hanna, all residents of Basai Meo.
