Classrooms buzz with holiday stories as bell rings again in schools of Sirsa district

After summer vacations, several government and private schools in Sirsa reopened on July 1, bringing back the lively atmosphere of classrooms buzzing with students’ chatter.

The new academic session has officially started, and the first day at many institutes was more about sharing holiday memories than formal learning. Many students were excited to meet their friends again. They spent most of the day talking about the holiday trips they took, fun activities, and the time they spent with their families.

According to Bansi Lal Jhorar, Headmaster of the Government Model Sanskriti Primary School in Chattargarh Patti, students were happy to return, but attendance was lower than expected.

Government schools recorded 30-40 per cent attendance, while private schools saw up to 70 per cent attendance. Teachers in private schools welcomed students warmly, and discussed plans for the new session.

As per the Education Department’s guidelines, all schools were asked to start classes on time, conduct health check-ups, and ensure that students had their books, uniforms, and timetables ready. As the weather cools down after the scorching heat, regular studies are expected to begin soon.

Some private schools will start their quarterly exams later this week.

Teachers have already begun discussions about the exam schedule and syllabi with students.

In government schools, SET (Student Evaluation Test) exams are scheduled to be held from July 28 to August 2 for students of classes I to XII.

Sub-District Education Officer Subhash Phutela confirmed that schools had reopened after summer holidays, and attendance on the first day was low.

He added that preparations for the upcoming SET exams would now begin in full swing.
