Mahadangal: BJP Hits Back at Tejashwi Yadav-‘Constitution Not for the Dustbin, This is Sharia Politics’ | ABP NEWS

As Bihar gears up for elections, the political discourse has turned fiery, with a fierce exchange between the BJP and RJD. The controversy began with Tejashwi Yadav’s statement suggesting that amendments to the Waqf Act should be thrown into the “dustbin.” The BJP responded angrily, stating that no state government can discard a central law passed by Parliament. Quoting Article 256 of the Constitution, BJP leaders argued that such defiance reflects appeasement politics aimed at Muslim voters. Pradeep Bhandari and other BJP voices accused Tejashwi and his allies of promoting Sharia-inspired politics and undermining the Constitution. They recalled past statements by Lalu Prasad Yadav supporting Muslim reservation and alleged that RJD leaders have a history of communal favoritism. BJP leaders also criticized Tejashwi for failing to address real issues and instead relying on religion-based polarization. RJD leaders, including  Nawal Kishore, countered that the BJP is distorting facts and playing communal politics. They pointed out that even Prime Minister Modi had repealed farm laws, implying that flawed laws can be scrapped. Accusing BJP of fearing a political loss in Bihar, RJD maintained that their campaign is based on performance—education, employment, and welfare—not religion.
