Bizarre! BSc Students Given BCom Question Paper In Exam In Gwalior; Over 300 Students Declared Fail

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): Around 300 second-year BSc students were declared 'fail' after being mistakenly given BCom foundation paper.

The students were of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Girls College, Murar, which is affiliated to Jiwaji University.

According to information, the shocking error by Jiwaji University (JU) came to light after the students staged a protest last week.

It was later discovered that their OMR sheets were checked using the BSc answer key, despite being given the BCom paper. This mismatch led to incorrect results.

After re-evaluation with the correct answer key, all 300 students were found to have passed.

The error was traced back to both the college administration and the computer expert responsible for answer sheet evaluation.

JU officials have said they will issue a notice to VRG College and seek clarification. However, the university itself is also under criticism, as no action or notice has yet been taken against its own staff. Registrar Dr. Rakesh Kushwah has remained silent on this.

JU PRO Dr Vimlendra Singh Rathore confirmed that the students have now passed after the recheck.

VRG College Principal Dr Jyoti Upadhyay stated that if BSc students were wrongly given BCom papers, strict action would be taken as per the rules.
