Doctors' Day 2025: Panvel Municipal Corporation & MOC Organise Cancer Screening Camp For Healthcare Workers In Kamothe, Launch Tree Plantation Drive

Panvel: To commemorate Doctors' Day, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC), in collaboration with Mumbai OncoCare Center (MOC), organized a special cancer screening camp at the Community Center in Kamothe on July 1.

The initiative, aimed at promoting preventive healthcare, saw active participation from over 110 healthcare and sanitation workers. The camp was inaugurated by former municipal corporator Dr. Arunkumar Bhagat.

The screening covered staff from Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHC) 6, 14, and 15, along with women sanitation workers from the Kamothe ward. Free screenings were conducted for oral cancer, Pap smear tests for cervical cancer (for women over 30), and mammography for breast cancer (for women over 40).

Meanwhile, to further mark the occasion, a tree plantation drive was held at UPHC 6 in Kamothe. Ten saplings were planted within the center premises.

"The twin initiatives showcased PMC's commitment to community health, environmental sustainability, and honoring the city’s medical professionals," said an official.
