When innovation meets inspiration!
The campus of St Thomas’ School, Shimla, was abuzz with energy and innovation as the school hosted its much-anticipated Techno Fest to mark World Robotics Day. Recognised as one of the town’s premier educational institutions, the school celebrated the creative potential of its young learners from Classes I to VIII through a vibrant display of technology and robotics.
From smart locks and auto pots to 3D pens, musical robots, pick and place machines and table lamp circuits, the exhibition showcased a diverse array of student-built models. Projects like the smart fan, volume control circuit, 3D printer, basic car and truck and discovering motion left visitors and faculty impressed with the talent and technical curiosity on display.
Dr Balveer Singh Thakur, Assistant Professor at the UIT Department of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), graced the occasion as the chief guest. Commending the efforts of the students and teachers, Dr Thakur congratulated everyone on the successful event and said, “Today’s students are not only experimenting with robotics but are seamlessly integrating AI and automation into their learning and even their daily lives.”
He further remarked that St Thomas’ School, with its collaboration with StemRobo, is poised to bring transformative changes in the field of education and innovation.
Speaking at the event, vice-principal Sharon Nanda expressed immense pride in the school’s technological advancement. “We had earlier launched the StemRobo initiative in school and it is a matter of pride that we are now at the forefront of technological education,” she said.
