General Manager presents Safety Award to 9 employees of Central Railway

Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway felicitated 9 Central Railway employees i.e. 2 from Mumbai Division, 3 from Solapur Division, 2 from Nagpur Division and 1 each from Pune and Bhusaval Division with Safety Award in a function held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai on 01.07.2025.
The Safety awards were presented in recognition of the respective employee’s alertness during duty, their contribution in averting untoward incidents and ensuring safety in train operations during the previous months. Each award consists of a medal, commendation certificate, a citation of exemplary safety work and cash prize of ₹ 2000/-.


*Details of the Awardees*


*Mumbai Division*
1. Nivrutti Pandurang Mhatre, Head Booking Clerk, Diva, Mumbai division, 
on 12.05.2025 noticed a rail fracture at Kms 44/100-200. He immediately alerted and informed the Cabin Station Master of Dativali station and helped avert a big mishap.

2. Amol Santosh Devre, Railway Protection Force personnel, Ambarnath, Mumbai division,  on 02.06.2025, noticed a blind man falling down from the platform on the tracks with train on the said track a short distance away. Amol Devre immediately rushed to his help and rescued the person putting his own life at risk. His quick thinking and action helped save a life.

 

*Solapur Division*

3. Birmani Bir, Deputy Station Manager, Akalkot Road, Solapur division,  on 17.06.2025, during exchange of signals with a goods train near the loopline, noticed a part hanging from the wagon. He immediately showed danger signal and stopped the train for further action to be taken. His alertness and immediate action helped avert a potential mishap.

4. Rajesh Ajmire, Deputy Station Manager, Dhoki, Solapur division,  on 14.06.2025, during exchange of signals with a departing goods train, noticed a part hanging from the second last wagon. He immediately informed the Loco Pilot and stopped the train for further action to be taken. His alertness and immediate action helped avert a potential mishap.

5. Atish Lambture, Pointsman, Solapur, Solapur division,  on 05.06.2025, during arrival of a goods train, noticed the piston rod of a wagon hanging loose. He immediately informed all concerned and thus helped in averting a potential mishap.

 

*Nagpur Division*

6. Rakesh Kumar, Senior Train Manager,  Nagpur, Nagpur division,  on 21.05.2025, during examination of a goods train, noticed the outer helical spring of a rear trolley missing.  He immediately informed all concerned and thus helped in averting a potential mishap.

7. Vishu Bhimrao Dofe, Technician(C&W),  Nagpur, Nagpur division,  on 29.05.2025, during routine rolling in examination of Train no 12721 Hyderabad-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express, noticed the brake disc of a rear trolley of a coach in broken and hanging condition with all bolts missing. He immediately informed all concerned and thus helped in averting a potential mishap.

 

*Pune Division*
8. Mayur Kamble, Loco Pilot, Pune, Pune division, on 13.06.2025, during duty on goods train, while entering Chinchwad loopline noticed that a portion of wall has fallen on the rail tracks. He immediately applied emergency brakes and stopped the train thus averting a potential mishap.

 

*Bhusaval Division*
9. Mayur Sapkale, Assistant Loco Pilot, Bhusaval, Bhusaval division, 
on 16.05.2025, during duty at Manmad station on Train no 03380 LTT-Dhanbad Special, while inspection of loco, noticed the supporting strip of a panto plate in broken condition. He immediately informed all concerned and thus helped in averting a potential mishap.

Congratulating the awardees and complimenting them for their alertness and dedication towards their duties, the General Manager said that such acts of alertness and dedication will motivate others to sincerely work towards the safety of passengers and avert loss of life, freight and railway property.

Prateek Goswami, Additional General Manager, Chandra Kishore Prasad, Principal Chief Safety Officer, Other Principal Head of Departments and Senior Officers of Central Railway were present on the occasion.
