Breaking News: Amarnath Yatra 2025 Sees 35 Lakh Registrations Amid High Alert After Terror Threats | ABP NEWS

The eagerly awaited Amarnath Yatra has officially commenced, marking the beginning of darshan for thousands of devotees at the holy Baba Barfani shrine. Early morning rituals, including the first aarti in the sacred cave, were completed, allowing pilgrims to start their spiritual journey amidst chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” Devotees began moving from Baltal and Pahalgam routes under heightened security. So far, over 35 lakh registrations have been completed for this year’s yatra, which will continue until August 9, covering a 38-day period. Last year, over 5 lakh pilgrims visited the shrine. This year, however, security has been tightened further following a terror attack in Pahalgam in April. CRPF, J&K Police, and the Indian Army are deployed across all key points, with drone surveillance and RFID checks being used to ensure safety. The Pahalgam route, known for its 48-km trek through Chandanwari, Pissu Top, Sheshnag, and Panchatarni, remains a preferred path despite its length. The Baltal route is shorter, with pilgrims reaching the cave within a day, though the narrow and steep paths often cause bottlenecks. Many pilgrims have arrived days in advance, even before their scheduled darshan date, showing the intensity of their devotion. Several devotees mentioned preparing for months, and despite minor inconveniences like delays or overcrowding, the spiritual enthusiasm remains unshaken. Officials have urged pilgrims to register family members together to avoid logistical issues. With spiritual fervor and administrative precision, this year’s Amarnath Yatra reflects both faith and resilience.
