New study reveals how plants use sugar to sense and respond to heat

Scientists have discovered a new way plants sense heat. Plants use sunlight, sugar, and internal signals. This helps them grow in warm conditions. Sugar stabilizes a protein called PIF4. PIF4 promotes growth when it is warm. Another protein, ELF3, is disabled by high temperatures. This allows PIF4 to function properly. The study reveals a complex adaptation mechanism.
