Shocking Video: Pitbull Mauls Pune Man As He Cries For Help With Hand Trapped In Dog’s Jaws
In a shocking incident in Pune, a man was violently attacked by a Pitbull. As he screamed for help at the top of his voice, the dog refused to let go of his hand on July 2.
The video showed him sitting with his hand inside the mouth of the Pitbull. Then a person came with a rod and hit the dog. Water was also thrown on the dog. Later, in a second video, the man was seen with his bloodied hand as he was taken to the hospital by a two-wheeler rider.
The incident happened in Kondhwa near Somaji Petrol Pump. The video showed two men hitting the dog and one person throwing water on it, but still, the dog did not let the man go.
Eyewitnesses told Kondhwa Times that a man was walking close to a petrol pump when a Pitbull unexpectedly attacked and bit him badly. A staff member at the pump acted swiftly, stepping in to separate the dog from the victim, which may have helped avoid even more serious injuries.
In 2024, responding to the growing number of aggressive dog attacks, particularly targeting children and the elderly, the Centre implemented a nationwide ban on the import, sale, and breeding of 23 dog breeds classified as "ferocious" and deemed a threat to human safety.
This list includes breeds such as Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Terriers, Wolf Dogs, Russian Shepherds, and various Mastiffs.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying also issued a directive to chief secretaries of all states and Union territories, urging strict enforcement of the ban.
