France fines one of Amazon’s biggest Chinese retail competitors for misleading customers about discounts

Fast-fashion giant Shein faces a hefty 40 million euro fine in France for deceptive discount practices. Investigations revealed that Shein misled customers by advertising discounts that weren't genuine. The agency found that over half of the advertised deals didn't offer lower prices, and some even saw price increases before the discount was applied.
