IND vs ENG: Mohammed Siraj Gestures Shubman Gill To Bow After His Double-Ton At Edgbaston; Team India Skipper Immediately Obliges; Video

Team India's new-ball bowler Mohammed Siraj was seen gesturing from the dressing room for Shubman Gill to perform his bow down celebration after reaching the spectacular milestone of a double-hundred. In a video shared on Sky Sports, Gill was spotted bowing down immediately after Siraj's gesture, with the rest of the Indian contingent continuing their applause.

The Punjab-born cricketer had resumed his innings at 114 overnight and reached 168 by lunch and went on to reach the massive milestone of a double-hundred off Josh Tongue's bowling. The right-handed batter played a pull shot off the towering seamer's short-pitched delivery and celebrated with a leap, followed by taking off his helmet.

As per the latest update, Gill has also gone past Sunil Gavaskar's score of 221 as the latter held the highest individual score for an Indian batter on English soil. The tourists have continued to dominate England, with their score going well past 500 and now on track for 600.

"When he last came to England, he played with hard hands" - Ravi Shastri

After day 1 of the Test, ex-Indian head coach Ravi Shastri heaped praise on Gill for showing a marked improvement in his technique as far as playing in England goes. Shastri said while speaking on Sky Sports:

"Gill's performance was superb. It was disciplined, he looked solid, looked fantastic. He has worked hard on his defence. When he last came to England, he played with hard hands, pushed at the ball, but now, the top hand is in control. He allows the ball to come to him, trusts in his defence and has all the shots in the book when he goes on the attack."
