Rani Durgavati's Martyrdom Day To Be Observed On Sunday

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The 462nd Martyrdom Day of warrior queen Durgavati, a symbol of tribal pride and bravery, will be observed on a grand scale here on Sunday. Various cultural and intellectual programmes will be organized to mark the occasion.

Union minister Savitri Thakur will be present as the chief guest at a programme to be held at the Mai Mangeshkar Auditorium. Entrepreneur Manisha Dhurve will be the keynote speaker of the programme. To note, she has been honoured with the National Janjati Gaurav Samman by the Government of Inda.

MP from Ratlam Anita Nagarsingh Chauhan and Pandhana MLA Chhaya More will be present as special guests.

A large number of women are likely to participate in the programme.The purpose of this event is to convey the valour and sacrifice of tribal warrior Rani Durgavati to the present generation.

The story of Rani Durgavati is an example of bravery and self-sacrifice of the tribal society of India. This programme is being organized under the joint aegis of Rani Durgavati Gondwana Vikas Parishad Indore and Bhimanayak Vananchal Seva Sanstha, Jhabua.

It is worth mentioning that the Gond community of Indore and the entire tribal society have been celebrating the Martyrdom Day of Veerangana Rani Durgavati for the past 20 years.
