Hamirpur bus stand work to be completed in a year: CM
The construction of a bus stand here will be completed within a year, said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu after inspecting the progress of the project here yesterday. He added that efforts were being made to complete the work on the bus stand by next year, which had been delayed by 20 years due to a paucity of funds.
He said that the Public Works Department and the construction company had been instructed to ensure quality in the work and speedy completion as well. He added that once completed, the bus stand would be one of the best bus terminals in the state.
Sukhu said that specialised health services at Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College would also be dedicated to people soon. The order for the procurement of furniture for the medical college had been issued and it would soon get state-of-the-art medical equipment as well.
He said that the state government had introduced reforms in education and improved its ranking from 21st to fifth. He added that the government had started English medium teaching from Class-I in all government schools and clubbed two directorates of education into one Directorate of School Education.
