4 roads in Chabbewal to be widened to 18 feet at cost of over Rs 9 crore
The Punjab Government has approved the widening of four roads in the Chabbewal constituency to 18 feet, with construction to be undertaken at a cost of more than Rs 9 crore.
Lok Sabha MP Dr Raj Kumar and Chabbewal MLA Dr Ishan Kumar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is consistently working to strengthen the road network in the Chabbewal constituency. As part of this effort, four more roads will now be widened to 18 feet.
They said the construction work on these roads will begin soon, with an estimated expenditure of over Rs 9 crore. These roads include a 7.90 km long stretch from Bihala-Marula-Saidpur to Bham, a 1.38 km stretch from Mahilpur-Jejo Road to Chak Nariyal, a 2.56 km stretch from Mahilpur-Jejo Road to Lalwan, and a 1.60 km stretch from Mahilpur-Phagwara Road to Kharodi.
Dr Raj Kumar and Dr Ishan Kumar stated that residents of the villages connected by these roads had long been demanding their reconstruction and widening due to increasing traffic. Taking the public demand into consideration, a project report for the reconstruction and widening of the roads was prepared and submitted to the Punjab Government, which has now been approved by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Dr Raj added that the construction and widening of these roads will save travel time and make commuting more convenient. —
