Second murder in three days in Nawanshahr

Nawanshahr district has been rocked by the second murder in just three days. Hardeep Singh, a 37-year-old resident of Kulpur village near Pojewal, was gunned down late last night by bike-borne miscreants while returning from his fields.

According to the brother of the deceased who was also at some distance from his brother, Hardeep was going back home when men on a motorcycle approached and opened fire. Multiple rounds were fired, leaving Hardeep fatally injured at the scene. It seems that the murder is the result of an old rivalry.

“There has been a rivalry going on. I recognised the attackers and will share their names with the police," he stated while speaking to the media, urging swift action.

This incident follows the killing of Amandeep Singh, a 30-year-old from Usmanpur village, just two days before. He was similarly shot dead by unidentified miscreants under mysterious circumstances.

The killings have sparked fear and outrage among local residents, raising serious concerns about public safety and law enforcement’s ability to prevent such crimes. People have demanded increased patrolling and immediate arrests to restore peace in the region.

Police officials have launched investigations in the case.

Meanwhile, tension continues to simmer in the affected villages as people remain on edge, grappling with grief and fear.
