Blind murder of woman cracked in four days, tempo driver nabbed

The police claimed to have solved a blind murder case in which a tempo driver of Dehliz village had killed a woman of the village and attempted to destroy the evidence by throwing the body of the victim at a deserted place, about 40 km from here.

The woman, who was in an illicit relationship with the suspect, lost her life minutes after she confessed betrayal to him at a rented house in Ahmedgarh on Sunday.

The suspect, identified as Abdul Gaffar of Dehliz Kalan village, confessed that he had killed the victim by hitting her head with an iron rod, after she told him that she was in relationship with some other persons also.

SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said police officials, supervised by Ahmedgarh SP Rajan Sharma and SP (D) Sat Pal, had solved the case in which a married woman of Dehliz village had gone missing on Sunday and her body was recovered from a distance place, on the basis of a social media post that went viral.

Coming to know from his minor daughter that his wife was last seen with Abdul on Sunday, Bashir Khan lodged a complaint against the suspect at the Sadar police station on Tuesday.

On the fateful day, Abdul after assaulting the woman had called the deceased’s daughter to Ahmedgarh on the pretext of her (victim’s) sudden illness. However, he did not allow the girl to see her mother as the latter had already succumbed to her head injuries by then. The girl returned home and remained silent about her mother’s visit to Ahmedgarh with the suspect. Having identified the suspect, the police launched a manhunt for him after registering an FIR at the Ahmedgarh Sadar police station on Tuesday. Police officials, led by Sadar SHO Darshan Singh, nabbed the man when he visited the area to destroy evidence on Thursday. The police have yet to recover the rod, which was used by the suspect in the crime.
