Pakistan delivered a dominant performance at the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in Gimcheon, South Korea, with five players cruising into the semifinals on Thursday.
All five victories came in straight sets (3-0), showcasing the country's growing strength in junior squash.
In the Boys U-19 category, third seed Abdullah Nawaz eased past Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Kuen with a scoreline of 11-4, 11-6, 11-6.
Top seed Nauman Khan defeated India’s Harshal Rana 11-6, 11-5, 11-7 in the Boys U-15, while fellow Pakistani Ahmad Rayyan Khan secured a commanding 11-7, 11-3, 11-3 win over Malaysia’s Armann Merzha bin Ashraff.
In the Boys U-13 category, top seed Muhammad Sohail Adnan overpowered India’s Abhyuday Arora 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 to advance.
On the girls’ side, Mahnoor Ali booked her place in the semifinals after sweeping aside India’s Anika Kalanki 11-6, 11-2, 11-3.
However, it wasn’t all good news for Pakistan, as Sehrish Ali was knocked out of the Girls U-15 quarterfinals, losing to Malaysia’s Syaurah A Sufian in straight sets, 3-0.
