Bihar Election 2025: AIMIM Demands Entry Into Mahagathbandhan to Unite Muslim Votes | ABP NEWS

As Bihar heads toward the 2025 Assembly elections, political dynamics are heating up. The spotlight is once again on AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Owaisi’s party has sent a formal proposal to join the Mahagathbandhan, arguing that uniting will prevent secular vote division. However, RJD has neither accepted nor rejected the proposal, sparking speculation about another vote split. In 2020, AIMIM contested 20 seats and won 5—primarily cutting into RJD’s Muslim vote base in Seemanchal. Though four AIMIM MLAs later joined RJD, the damage was already done. This time, AIMIM Bihar chief Akhtarul Iman is appealing to Lalu Prasad Yadav to join forces. If ignored, AIMIM has hinted at forming a third front. Meanwhile, BJP leaders are attacking Owaisi, calling AIMIM a “vote cutter” that helps BJP by dividing Muslim votes. Within Mahagathbandhan, there’s skepticism too—some leaders feel AIMIM is only creating buzz, not seeking real unity. Still, Owaisi claims the aim is communal harmony and preventing BJP’s rise. The question remains—will RJD respond in time, or will secular votes scatter again, handing BJP an advantage?
