Over 100 cats found in U-haul van: California woman held for animal cruelty; 28 felines discovered dead inside

Jeannie Maxon, 69, was arrested in Santa Nella, California, after authorities discovered 106 emaciated cats and 28 dead cats inside a U-Haul vehicle. The cats, ranging from one week to eight years old, were found without food or water and were seized by animal control. Maxon faces 93 counts of animal cruelty and is booked into Merced County Jail.
