Railway Station Change: Important news for railway passengers! Stations of more than 100 trains of New Delhi changed; check the details before travelling

Indian Railways News The redevelopment work of New Delhi Railway Station will start soon which will provide airport-like facilities to passengers. In the first phase, a multi-model transport hub will be built towards Paharganj and some platforms will be reconstructed. New Delhi train routes changed During this, 105 trains will be sent to other stations.

New Delhi. Construction work for the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station is expected to start soon. Its process has been started. In the first phase, along with building a Multi Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) on the Paharganj side of the station, platforms number one to nine will also be reconstructed.

This will provide airport-like facilities to the passengers at the railway station as well as ease crowd management. It will help in improving the traffic system around the station so that passengers can reach here easily.

But, train operations will be disrupted from here due to the start of construction work. According to a report of Delhi Division, 105 trains will have to be shifted from here to other stations. This is a big challenge for the railway administration.

Railway officials said, along with soil testing for construction work, the survey for demolishing Rail Niwas, Railway Club and JE office located on State Entry Road has been completed. The work of demolishing them will start soon. Also, the work of shifting the municipal corporation drain is going on.

The construction work was halted due to non-receipt of permission from the Forest Department to cut and shift the trees in the construction area. Now permission is expected soon. By February next year, some parts of the station building located on the Paharganj side will also be demolished.

Along with this, platforms number one to five and then platforms number six to nine will be rebuilt. Before this, trains will have to be shifted to other stations. Currently, it has been announced to run six trains including Purushottam Express from other stations. Decisions will also be taken regarding other trains in the coming days.

This work is challenging, because a large number of trains operate from Old Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin as well as Anand Vihar Terminal. Due to this, not many trains can be shifted here. Keeping this in mind, the work of the under-construction Bijwasan Terminal will have to be expedited.

At the same time, the process of building new railway terminals has been started in Tughlakabad and Adarsh Nagar. Along with constructing two additional platforms at both the stations, washing lines (for maintenance of trains) and stabling lines (for keeping empty rakes) will also be constructed.

According to officials, there is a plan to run many east-bound trains from New Delhi via Anand Vihar Terminal and Old Delhi. Many south and west-bound trains are to be shifted to Hazrat Nizamuddin and Tughlakabad.

Similarly, many north-bound trains will run from Sarai Rohilla and Adarsh Nagar. Some trains will also run from Shakur Basti, Delhi Cantonment, Safdarjung and many other small stations.
