Shocker! 28-Year-Old Constable Shoots Self While On Duty In Indore
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 28-year-old police constable posted in Madhya Pradesh's Indore shot himself while on duty, as reported by police on Friday.
According to reports, the incident took place at Digvijay Multi in the Dwarkapuri area of the city.
The constable identified as, Anurag allegedly shot himself with his service gun around 5 am . He was a resident of Bhagor in Alirajpur and was earlier posted at Sarafa police station.
Deceased didn't respond to calls
According to the police, Anurag did not respond to calls during duty, after which his fellow constable Mohit tried to find him. When Mohit reached where Anurag was deployed, he found him soaked in blood.
Police personnel rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Anurag's family consists of his father and he got married 1.5 years ago. There is a wave of mourning in the family due to this incident.
The police have launched a thorough investigation to confirm the reasons that lead the constable to take the extreme step. Senior officers said they are examining both personal and professional angles as part of the investigation.
