Bajirao’s valour will inspire NDA cadets, says Shah

Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakvasla was the most fitting place for the installation of Maratha warrior Peshwa Baji Rao’s statue.

As the future soldiers of the country would draw inspiration from the legendary warrior and no one would dare to challenge India’s borders for ages to come, he stated.

Speaking at a function marking the statue’s installation at the NDA campus near Pune, Shah said that Bajirao Peshwa fought 41 battles in 20 years and emerged victorious in all of them. Therefore, the NDA campus is the most fitting place for the statue of a brave warrior like him, who never allowed defeat to come near him throughout his life.

Citing the example of Operation Sindoor, Shah further said: “Whenever the need arises to preserve Swaraj, the Indian armed forces and leadership will undoubtedly fulfil their duty.”

In another event in Pune, Shah said there was a time when hosting the Olympics in India seemed unthinkable, but now India is set to host the Olympics in 2036. India would also rank among the top 10 countries in the medals tally, he added.
