4 held with countrymade pistol, cartridges in Yamunanagar

The district police have arrested four members of a criminal gang, who had reportedly come here to execute some crime, from near Harnaul village of Yamunanagar. A countrymade pistol and four cartridges have been recovered from the four persons, who belonged to Uttarakhand, and are members of Baba gang.

Their two accomplices managed to escape and the police have launched a manhunt.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said following the directions of Superintendent of Police Surinder Singh Bhoria to crack down on crime and criminals, a team from Thana Chhappar police station and Panchtirthi police post in arrested the suspects.

“The accused are associated with Baba gang. Jasbir Singh, head of the gang, has also been arrested,” the DSP Rajesh Kumar in a press conference today.The police arrested Jasbir, Shah Mohammad, both from Haridwar district and Shivam from Saharanpur district, besides one more youth.

He said Jasbir had 14 cases registered against him, while Shivam had four cases against him. Police spokesman Chamkaur Singh said Jasbir and Shivam were produced in a Jagadhri court today and the court sent them to two-day police custody. He said the two others, including Shah Mohammad, were sent to judicial custody.
