Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Advisory Ahead Of Raj And Uddhav Thackeray’s Mega Rally In Worli On July 5
The Mumbai Traffic Police has released an official advisory for commuters ahead of the much-talked-about joint rally by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray. The event, scheduled for Friday, July 5, at the NSCI Dome in Worli, is expected to witness a massive turnout, prompting authorities to alert the public about potential congestion and diversions.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Mumbai Police posted, “On Saturday, 05/07/2025, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, a rally has been organised by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena at Worli Dome, S. V. P. Stadium, (N. S. C. I.) Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, Worli, Mumbai.”
Motorists have been urged to plan their travel in advance and avoid the affected areas during the specified time window to steer clear of traffic snarls. The advisory also mentioned that additional personnel will be deployed on ground to ensure smooth vehicular movement, especially in key areas such as Haji Ali, Worli Sea Face, and Mahalaxmi, which are likely to be impacted due to the rally.
As political anticipation builds, Friday’s rally is expected to bring parts of South Mumbai to a temporary halt, both in traffic and political discourse.
Rally Details
The rally marks the first time in nearly 20 years that Raj and Uddhav Thackeray will be seen together at a public event. Earlier in the week, both the Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, under Raj Thackeray's leadership, had jointly issued a public invitation for what they termed "Marathi Vijay Diwas."
The event may also signal a potential alliance between the MNS and Shiv Sena (UBT) in the future.
