Farm unions support Diljit Dosanjh over Sardar Ji 3 movie row
Days after BJP leader and Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans came out in support of Punjabi singer-cum-actor Diljit Dosanjh over sharing of screen with Pakistan actor Hania Aamir in his movie Sardar Ji 3, several farm leaders today expressed solidarity with him.
BKU (Doaba) chief Manjit Singh Rai went to Diljit’s native Dosanjh Kalan village in Phagwara and urged the authorities concerned to release the movie in India.
Farmers said those at the helm of affairs had little tolerance and care two hoots about communal harmony. “Sardar Ji 3 has got so much admiration from the people across the globe. Art should have no boundaries. We are just seeking the release of the film in Diljit’s own country,” said Rai.
Farm leader Satnam Sahni said, “Minority community has always been pushed to the wall in India. This is an attempt in the same direction. India and Pakistan will play a cricket match in the Asia Cup. Will players of both countries not shake hands before the start of the match? If sports does not have a boundary, why should we have a problem with release of Diljit’s movie in India.” — TNS
