Judges take part in plantation, cleanliness campaign at High Court
An organisation of advocates and other volunteers, Feed Goal Weekly, today planted more than 100 saplings to promote environmental protection during its second cleaning and plantation drive of the season on the Punjab and Haryana High Court premises.
The campaign, held a month after their earlier drive on World Environment Day, saw participation by Justice Vinod S Bhardwaj, Justice Harkesh Manuja, Justice NS Shekhawat, Justice Aman Chaudhary and Justice Rohit Kapoor.
Volunteers began work in the early hours, clearing litter like plastic bottles and polythene bags from the High Court’s parking and surrounding areas. The organisers said the clean-up aimed to tackle not just visible waste but also public apathy towards environmental issues.
The plantation drive that followed was intended to strengthen the commitment to a greener environment. Participants later gathered for a community breakfast to exchange ideas on sustainability and the need for collective action against environmental degradation.
Organisers said the initiative underlined the belief that consistent, united efforts were essential to improve the condition of the environment and ensure a healthier future.
