Mumbai: Mumbai, also known as ‘Mayanagari’, is the commercial capital of India. The Maximum City is also home to several billionaires, including one of the world’s richest men, Mukesh Ambani. We all know that property prices here are always high, and hearing that a person bought a house for Rs 1 crore is a pretty common thing in the city. But sometimes, some deals actually make us roll our eyes, just like the recent deal by director, actor, and screenwriter of TV serials, Aatish Kapadia. He and his wife, Alison Kapadia, became the talk of the town when they bought an apartment in the Goregaon area for Rs 15.31 crore, SquareYards reported on the basis of property registration documents available on the website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR). Atish is a prominent name in the television as well as film industry. He is an actor, writer, director and a screenwriter. Aatish is primarily known for his work in Hindi TV and films. He wrote and produced popular TV shows like – Wagle Ki Duniya (2021–2025), Happy Family Conditions Apply (2023), Khichdi (2002–2018) and Pushpa Impossible (2022–2025).
He co-founded Hats Off Productions, which has produced several hit TV serials like Khichdi, Baa Bahu Aur Baby, and Wagle Ki Duniya.
Why Is The Apartment Is So Costly?
As per Square Yards, citing IGR documents, the apartment is located in Oberoi Realty’s project Elysian. It has a RERA carpet area of 281.50 sqm or approx 3,030.07 sqft. With this deal, the director also got three car parking spaces. The stamp duty of the property is Rs 91.86 lakh and the registration fee is Rs 30,000.
Oberoi Realty’s Elysian project registered 116 sales totalling Rs 1,035 crore between April 2024 and March 2025, according to Square Yards Data Intelligence. The average sale price was Rs 50,869 per square foot.
