Bank Holidays Next Week: Branches To Remain Closed For 2 Days, Check State-Wise Calendar HERE
As the second week of July 2025 approaches, bank customers across India should take note of the upcoming scheduled holidays to avoid last-minute inconvenience. From July 7 to July 13, banks will observe closures on account of standard weekend offs. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), there are a total of 13 bank holidays for July 2025, though not all are observed nationwide.
During the week in focus, banks will remain shut on Saturday, July 12, which marks the second Saturday of the month. Sunday, July 13, will also be a non-working day across all banks. These two days of closure apply to both public and private sector banks across the country.
The annual schedule of bank holidays is determined by the Reserve Bank of India in coordination with respective state governments. These closures are based on a variety of factors, including national festivals, regional observances, religious celebrations, and administrative requirements.
The RBI publishes the list each year under the Negotiable Instruments Act, which governs transactions involving cheques, promissory notes, and other financial instruments.
Because the Act directly affects clearing and settlement, no banking transactions involving these instruments can be carried out on designated holidays. It’s worth noting that some holidays are region-specific, depending on the state’s unique calendar. Hence, customers are advised to confirm specific dates with their local branch.
Online Banking and ATM Services Will Remain Uninterrupted
While physical bank branches will remain closed on these dates, digital banking channels such as internet banking, mobile apps, and Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services will continue to function normally — barring any unforeseen technical issues. ATM networks will also be operational, ensuring that customers can access cash in emergencies.
For essential transactions or account-related support, it is always advisable to plan in advance, particularly around weekends or extended breaks. Customers should stay informed through official communications or branch notices to ensure a seamless banking experience.
