Chhattisgarh receives excess rainfall, red alert issued for heavy rains

Chhattisgarh is experiencing a mixed monsoon with an overall 5% excess rainfall, though several districts face deficits, especially Bemetara. A red alert has been issued for the next 48 hours due to forecasts of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across the state. Torrential rains have already disrupted normal life, causing waterlogging and infrastructure damage in several districts.
