The regional office of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Lucknow has launched a special campaign to promote and create awareness about the mandatory biometric update in children’s Aadhaar. This also includes Aadhaar Seva Kendras in the district, where children’s biometrics can be updated without an appointment.
According to officials, under the campaign, children from five years to 15 years will no longer need to book an appointment at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra from Monday to Friday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm and the whole day on Saturday and Sunday to get their biometrics updated in their Aadhaar.
Children will be able to get their biometrics updated in Aadhaar cards by going directly to the Aadhaar Seva Kendra with their parents. It is known that when a child turns 5 years old and then 15 years old, it is mandatory to update his/her biometrics in Aadhaar. In this, the child’s fingerprint, eye scanning and latest photograph are recorded again.

According to the officials, separate machines have been arranged for registration and biometric update at the Aadhaar Seva Kendras, which will be very convenient for the people. With this process, updating biometrics will also become much easier than before.
Let us tell you that, apart from a big Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Ghaziabad district, biometric update work in Aadhaar card is done in banks and post offices. Biometrics of more than 50 children are updated daily at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
