Sambalpur: Odisha Vigilance Nabs Rairakhol Block Veterinary Officer and Programme Assistant for Bribery

Sambalpur: Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended a block veterinary officer along with the programme assistant in Sambalpur district for allegedly taking bribe.
Acting on a complaint received via the toll-free number 1064, the Vigilance sleuths nabbed Dr. Subha Prakash Soren, Block Veterinary Officer, Rairakhol, Sambalpur, and Maheswar Sahu, Programme Assistant for accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.
The duo was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from a beneficiary for the release of a Broiler Farm subsidy.
A case has been registered under Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 14, dated July 6, 2025, under Sections 7/12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. The investigation is ongoing, the Vigilance stated.
