Mumbai News: Cooper Hospital Installs Advanced Blood Testing Equipment, Boosting Diagnostic Efficiency
Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s Dr. R. N. Cooper Hospital has significantly upgraded its diagnostic capabilities with the installation of a state-of-the-art automated machine for blood biochemical analysis. Recently inaugurated, the new equipment can process up to 4,500 tests daily and over 12 lakh tests annually.
The facility is expected to enhance the hospital’s capacity to handle large volumes of samples and deliver timely reports. It also enables digital storage of test data, which will assist doctors in making faster and more accurate diagnoses.
“This is a major step toward strengthening healthcare services for patients in Mumbai’s western suburbs, especially those from economically weaker sections,” said Dr. Sudhir Medhekar, Dean of Cooper Hospital.
Dr. Shivaji Mane, Head of the Biochemistry Department, noted that the hospital currently handles 4,500 to 5,000 blood samples per day. The new system will allow the lab to process even more samples efficiently, improving turnaround time and overall patient care.
The machine has been provided by Indian Oil Corporation Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and has been implemented by the Child Health Foundation.
