Vijay Devarakonda's 'Kingdom' gets new release date, confirmed in intriguing promo video

A new official release date for Vijay Devarakonda's Kingdom has been confirmed by its makers. The big-scale action-heavy Gowtam Tinnanuri movie, touted as an action-packed mass entertainer, will now be hitting theatres on July 31.

The film was postponed twice previously, with the original plan to release on May 30. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the makers couldn't make it, and later announced a July 4 date, but they couldn't make it either. The makers had mentioned the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor as reasons for not releasing the film then.

The new date confirmation was made via a promo video released on the official social media handles of the film's team members.

Interestingly, the promo video also showed Devarakonda in a look completely different from the one we saw earlier, hinting at a before-and-after transformation story. The actor is seen in a clean and tidy, moustache-sporting police constable's outfit, followed by visuals of the fierce, rugged, and bloodied avatar we saw in the posters and promos.

Sharing the promo, Devarakonda wrote, "#KINGDOM July 31st. Worldwide. Let our Destinies unfold. A @gowtam19 story that unfolds like a novel to @anirudhofficial's genius score."

Sitara Entertainments, the production house backing the film, posted the promo with the caption, "One man. A heart full of fury. A world that pushed too far. Now it’s CARNAGE."

The film, which has Bhagyashri Borse as the female lead, with Satyadev playing another significant character, has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Malayalam cinema's most popular names Jomon T John and Girish Gangadharan, and stunt choreography handled by Yannick Ben, Chethan D’Souza, and Real Satish.

Sithara Entertainments is jointly producing the film with Fortune 4 Cinemas.
