Central Railway's Mumbai Division ran 201 Mail/Express trains daily in June-2025

Central Railway's Mumbai Division has run a total of 6035 Mail & Express trains (including 5615 Mail & Express trains and 420 Special Trains) during the month of June-2025, an average of 201 trains per day, as against a total of 5801 Mail & Express trains during June-2024, an average of 193 trains per day.

This makes 8 additional trains daily.

During the First Quarter of FY 2025-26, Mumbai Division has run a total of 16853 Mail & Express( including 1390 Special trains ), an average of 185 trains daily, as against a total of 16701 Mail & Express trains ( including 1325 Special trains ) during the corresponding period last year with an average of 183 trains daily.

The Special trains run include 526 Summer Special trains during the period April to June-2025 as against 449 trains during the corresponding period last year, an increase of 17%.

*Punctuality of Mail /Express & Suburban Trains*

Apart from increasing train operations, the Mumbai Division has also made substantial progress in improving train punctuality, which is a significant operational benchmark, especially given the immense volume of train traffic handled daily.

During the April to June 2025 period, the punctuality of Mail/Express trains rose to 86% , as compared to 81% recorded in the same period last year.

Similarly, Suburban train punctuality reached 93% , marginally up from 92% in the previous year.

In June 2025 alone, Mail/Express trains recorded a punctuality of 85% , compared to 80% in June 2024.

Suburban services saw a significant year-on-year improvement, with punctuality rising to 93% from 89% despite the incessant monsoon.

These achievements underscore the Mumbai Division's persistent efforts and strategic planning aimed at managing high passenger loads efficiently while improving the reliability and punctuality of services.
